Video Production / Briefing
Today, Mr. Martin briefed us about the project outline and also the props to prepare for the video shooting project. Mr. Martin said that we were allowed to do video shooting buy using our smartphone however we needed to buy a tripod holder for the phone to ensure that we could shoot the video with 360 angles.

WEEK 1 TASKS:
  • Install Premiere Pro, learn basic video editing and placements
  • watch  Zack King trick and understand it  for Project 2 
  • do and Post  stop motion videos in blog

Final Project:

  • View stop motion shorts(Youtube/Vimeo)
  • Shortlisted 3 and share it on Blog (Final Project section) with rationale (style, art direction, character design etc).
  • View Visual Effects shorts(Youtube/Vimeo)
  • Shortlisted 3 and share it on Blog (Final Project section) with rationale (style, illusion, visual effects etc).

Editing:

  • Edit Mints & Doritos videos, post it on Blog (Exercises section).
  • Film viewing:
  • Watch Munich 2005 ‧ Thriller/Drama ‧ 2h 44m
  • Munich will be used as a reference for story structure and sound design in week 3.
  • Purchasing:  Headphone & Tripod.

Framing & Storyboard


Today, Mr Martin briefed us about the Framing and Storyboard of videos and showed us few examples of placements of the frames ,


Week 2 task 

  • Shooting Exercise - * shots -
    • Low angle Wide shot

    • Frontal MCU (soft  background)

    • Frontal MS (soft  background)

    • Extreme Close-Up shotSide angle MS (soft  background)

    • ¾ angling MCU shot (with blurry/soft  foreground)

    • Close-Up shot   

    • Eye-Level Medium-Wide shot  


Framing shooting Exercise
  • Shoot wide shot with wide angle.

  • The rest ZOOM IN to get soft background.

  • Refer to the examples provided or google references for GOOD composition.

  • Avoid overexposed or underexposed (too bright or too dark).

  • Do the shooting during day time.

  • Shoot landscape format video, 5 seconds per shot.

  • Edit with CAPTION (Mention the shot size), export video for submission.


  • WEEK 3
 We were tasked to do audio dubbing exercise:
 Speech: Record with phone.
 Sound Effects: Find online

  • WEEK 4
 Prepare for next week group shooting exercise
  • WEEK 6

Voice of phone call.
 Voice coming from inside of closet.
 Voice of big stadium.
 Voice of toilet/bathroom.
 Underground cave.
 EXPORT to mp3.
 Upload to Google Drive or Soundcloud, embed into your blog

What's color correction, what's color grading?
Color correction : correcting the brightness, contrast, saturation
Color grading : applying filter, adding color hues.

Cold and warm use: temperature



WEEK 9 (23/05/2022) : Color Correction

From the previous class, we were tasked to do the "aka demo emo," then, in this week, we were tasked to do the color correction.Using the lumetri scopes, I study the color and try to adjust from the lumetri color. I noticed that the sequence I want to follow, all RGB points are located in 80-90.
